Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Flux Core Welder/Fitter to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for fitting and welding metal components using FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) processes according to blueprints, specifications, and production schedules. The ideal candidate will have strong fabrication experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols
• Fit, align, and assemble metal components prior to welding
• Perform flux core welding on structural steel and fabricated components
• Measure and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy and quality standards
• Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, torches, saws, and other hand/power tools
• Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
• Assist with material handling and movement of fabricated parts as needed
• Meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of flux core welding and fitting experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and understand weld symbols
• Strong knowledge of FCAW welding techniques
• Experience working with structural steel, heavy fabrication, or industrial manufacturing preferred
• Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and calipers
• Ability to pass a weld test
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment
• Ability to wear required PPE including welding hood, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position
• Overtime may be required based on production needs
• Pay based on experience and welding skill level
