Shift Hours: Second Shift Sun-Thurs 10:30pm-7am

Key Objective

As a Flexographic Press Operator, you will play a vital role in creating some of the best labels in the country. You will set up and efficiently run a servo-driven narrow web Flexographic Digital Hybrid Press, performing traditional flexographic printing and die-cutting to convert prime labels.

Responsibilities

• Operate Flexo press to produce jobs according to specifications. (Experience is a must.)
• Prepare the press for printing and die-cutting.
• Load substrate, install tooling, mount plates, set print impression, and adjust the press.
• Ensure that substrate, ink, and tooling meet the required specifications.
• Adjust ink distribution, speed, and temperature in the drying chamber.
• Troubleshoot and correct print issues quickly to minimize downtime and material waste.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oiling, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Mount and/or remount plates (as needed).
• Mix inks (as needed).
• Complete start-up checklists for all jobs run.
• Set up and operate press for production.
• Record stock usage.
• Use strobe and/or video web monitor for in-process inspection.
• Flag defective labels for rewind/inspection.
• Use spectrophotometer and densitometer (as required).
• Tag finished product for traceability.
• Complete required paperwork upon job completion.

• Mix ink
• Set up and run flexo or digital press
• Team player

Competency Requirements

• Pass color perception test
• Ability to read a ruler and perform basic math skills with a calculator
• Ability to assist in basic press maintenance
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
