Position Purpose:

Performs preventative and routine truck/trailer maintenance.  
 
 Primary Responsibilities:
  • WILL TRAIN CANDIDATES! 
  • Conducts scheduled power unit and trailer preventative maintenance.
  • Responds to driver's tractor/trailer complaints and current issues by correcting the problems in a timely manner.
  • Logs inspections and repairs in the fleet data base.
  • Conducts annual tractor/trailer inspections.
  • Keeps work area orderly and clean.
  • Attends ongoing tractor/trailer maintenance training as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of and skill in general tractor/trailer maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate with drivers, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to be task oriented and focused on goal achievement.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to check and correct own work.
  • Medium physical work. Will spend a majority of time inside the shop but may have to work on equipment outside.
