Fleet Maintenance Manager
Job Description:
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Schedules and coordinates preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs of YESCO company vehicles, units, and equipment to ensure YESCO maintains an uninterrupted flow of manufacturing, installation, and service by performing the following duties personally and/or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts evaluation of fleet to ensure, safe reliable vehicles and equipment are available to meet YESCO operational requirements and standards
- Ensures vehicles and drivers meet DOT and state regulations
- Submits registration information to DMV; ensures all DMV records information is correct
- Takes corrective action to resolve DOT and DMV issues
- Repairs and adjusts units to meet DOL or Crane Certifications
- Provides Crane certification, franchise, and operator training
- Prioritizes, plans, and schedules work procedures
- Manages the department budget to include payroll, documenting hours per job, and employee expenses
- Ensures scheduling of preventative maintenance on all vehicles and units
- Ensures operators correctly document maintenance and service to create history records
- Inspects and tests functioning of units to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
- Implements and maintains quality control, regulation compliance, and safety while performing duties
- Reviews manuals and diagrams to maintain knowledge of all units
- Orders, restocks parts, and materials inventory needed to ensure efficient repair time and maintenance
- Transports vehicles, equipment, and parts; sets up
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acquires new vehicles consistent with ROI documents and required specifications
- Selects vendor for vehicles, equipment, and parts; negotiates pricing; approves payments
- Coordinates airport vehicle permitting
- Advises operators on proper inspection and field level preventative maintenance
- Provides vehicles and equipment utilization reports
- Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
- Interacts daily with employees in the field and in the YESCO facilities to discuss status of preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs of YESCO company vehicles, units, and equipment
- Interacts daily with outside vendors to order equipment, parts, and manage inventory

High school diploma or GED; three or more years related demonstrated experience in mechanics, electricity, electronics, or related areas at a minimum; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specs
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply government regulation document information
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply mathematical calculations regarding electrical & mechanical requirements.
- Ability to move vehicles, units, engines, equipment, power tools, hand tools, and parts
- Ability to communicate in person and over the phone
