Fire Restoration Technician

A Fire Restoration Technician assists with the cleanup, demolition, and restoration of residential and commercial properties that have been damaged by fire, smoke, or water. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position that requires working in damaged properties and non-climate-controlled environments.

Job Duties

• Perform demolition and removal of fire- and smoke-damaged materials, including drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinets, and other building materials.

• Remove debris and damaged contents from residential and commercial properties.

• Assist with smoke, soot, and odor cleanup.

• Clean walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, and other affected surfaces.

• Assist with water extraction and drying when water damage is present from firefighting efforts.

• Use hand and power tools to complete demolition and restoration work.

• Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials.

• Set up and operate restoration equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers, and HEPA filtration equipment.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

• Follow company safety procedures and wear required PPE.

• Assist restoration crews with rebuilding and repair work as needed.

Requirements

• Construction, demolition, restoration, general labor, or similar hands-on experience preferred.

• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.

• Ability to perform frequent lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and carrying throughout the shift.

• Ability to lift approximately 50–75 lbs.

• Comfortable working around fire-, smoke-, and water-damaged materials.

• Must be comfortable working in dirty, dusty, hot, cold, or otherwise non-climate-controlled environments.

• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required.

• Must be willing to wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety requirements.

Ideal candidates will have experience in demolition, construction, fire/water restoration, disaster cleanup, carpentry, or other physically demanding general labor positions.
