Finishing Process Operator – Brass or Aluminum Department

Location: Laurens, SC

Position Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking dependable and motivated individuals for Finishing Process Operator positions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position supports finishing operations in both the brass and aluminum departments, with a focus on product quality, efficiency, and meeting production goals.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Schedule

• Must be flexible to work rotating shifts, including 1st and 2nd shift
• Occasional weekend work may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform finishing operations including blasting, buffing, tumbling, sorting, and packaging
• Follow directions and production schedules provided by the Forging Supervisor
• Box and label processed parts using the STAIN system
• Conduct visual inspections of parts throughout the production process
• Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas
• Assist with additional tasks such as trimming and loading/unloading ovens after training
• Coordinate with Material Handlers or operate a forklift when certified
• Perform required inspections and provide documentation to the Quality Department
• Communicate production trends, concerns, and issues to supervisors
• Follow ISO 9001 standards, company procedures, and all safety guidelines
• Cross-train across multiple finishing operations as required

Qualifications

• Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of mechanical forging and finishing processes
• Forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and occasional weekends

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of mechanical drawings
• Basic knowledge of measurement tools
• PLC programming is not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Frequent use of hands, tools, and equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions, reaching, and material handling

Work Environment

• Industrial/manufacturing setting
• Moderate to loud noise levels
• Exposure to dust and varying temperatures, including hot and cold conditions
• Safety-focused workplace with required PPE

Additional Requirements

• Must follow all company safety protocols
• Must comply with ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards
• Must be willing to cross-train in multiple finishing operations
