Breakthrough Productions is looking for a skilled Finishing & Surface Specialist to join our team. If you've spent years painting homes, refinishing cabinets, or laminating millwork and are ready for something more creative and rewarding, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

Every project is different. One week you may be finishing a premium trade show exhibit. The next you could be laminating cabinetry for a retail environment or painting scenic elements headed to a major event or cruise ship.

Responsibilities include:

• Surface preparation including patching, filling, sanding, and final prep

• Applying latex, acrylic, and specialty coatings using rollers, brushes, and spray equipment

• Laminating cabinets and architectural millwork with plastic laminate

• Trimming, filing, and finishing laminate edges

• Reading shop drawings and understanding finish requirements

• Inspecting work for quality before it moves into final assembly

• Maintaining a clean and organized finishing area

• Working closely with fabrication and assembly teams to keep projects moving on schedule

• Helping continuously improve quality, efficiency, and finishing processes

Ideal Experience

We're especially interested in candidates who have experience in one or more of the following:

• Residential or commercial painting

• Cabinet finishing

• Millwork or woodworking shops

• Plastic laminate fabrication

• Countertop fabrication

• Scenic fabrication

• Furniture finishing

Bonus experience includes:

• Spray finishing (HVLP or airless)

• Solid surface fabrication (Corian, HI-MACS, etc.)

• Wood staining and clear coatings

• Basic woodworking or cabinet assembly

• Automotive or industrial finishing

No two weeks are the same.

Requirements

• Experience in painting, finishing, laminating, cabinetry, or related trades

• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.

• Comfortable standing for extended periods

• Strong attention to detail

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Reliable transportation

• Ability to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality

Preferred (But Not Required)

• Solid surface fabrication experience

• Spray booth experience

• Cabinet shop experience

• Woodworking or CNC familiarity

• Experience using orbital sanders and common shop tools
