Description

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform.  The actual duties required of this position will vary.

Color Lab

  • Responsible for maintaining color standards
    • Ensure color standards are up to date
    • Keep control of master standards
  • Responsible for all color chips and samples
    • Ensure chip inventory is at proper levels and colors are to specification
    • Ensure sample doors are complete within their lead time and they are in spec and signed for quality
  • Create visual training tools
    • Create training boards for finishing department to enable better consistency in finishing as well as glazing (Michael has the list of required training tools)

Booths

  • Check color
    • Color must be checked and signed off twice for each job, once for initial sign off and second in the middle of the run to ensure consistency (documented on Daily Usage Report)
    • Make adjustments to finishes if necessary
  • Train sprayers
    • Create and maintain a sprayer training program
    • Responsible for initial training as well as 6 month refresher courses
    • Keep documentation on each sprayer’s training and progress

 

Finish Material

  • Batch Color
    • Do pour downs on new batches of stains and glazes to ensure the material is coming in from the vendor within specification
    • Check new batches of TC before introducing into production for sheen
    • Create and maintain reports for quality from vendor

UV Lines

  • Keep material ready for Sealer and Top coat
    • New drums must be under agitation and viscosity within spec. to avoid downtime on the UV Lines
    • Daily check for mil thickness and gloss

Glazing

  • Check each job for consistency and that the job matches standards (Documented on Glazer Reports)

Production

  • Assist in designing processes to reduce lead time and labor hours for our current finishes
  • Assist in designing new finishes with processes that help stay within TAKT time
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


●      Basic knowledge of carpentry, stain and paint.

●      At least one year of cabinetry service and or installation.
