About the Role

As a Welder at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in supporting construction, maintenance, and repair projects across a variety of industrial and remote job sites. This position requires strong welding skills, a commitment to safety, and the physical stamina to thrive in challenging work environments. You’ll contribute directly to the successful execution of field projects and the structural integrity of fabricated components.

You will collaborate with project teams, site supervisors, and fabrication personnel to ensure high-quality welds and timely project completion. This is a travel-based role requiring in-state travel approximately 75% of the time to construction sites, industrial facilities, and remote locations.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in physically demanding environments, has a strong attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering precise, high-quality work.

PAY: $21-$23/hr, Production Incentive, Per Diem and Site Work Incentive for specific jobs

What You’ll Do

  • Welds components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions using arc welding and other traditional techniques

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and weld symbols to plan and execute work

  • Lays out, aligns, and secures parts using measuring tools such as straightedges and calipers

  • Monitors and adjusts welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or material distortion

  • Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment for various processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding

  • Clamps, tack-welds, grinds, or bolts components to achieve required configurations

  • Develops templates and models using blueprint data and performs mathematical calculations for precise fabrication

  • Inspects finished welds to ensure conformance with job specifications and quality standards

  • Operates metal shaping and bending machinery, such as brakes and shears

  • Promotes and follows all workplace safety protocols, including use of PPE and safe equipment operation

Who You Are

  • 3 years of welding experience, preferably in construction or manufacturing

  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certificate preferred

  • Proficient in arc welding (stick) and familiar with MIG, TIG, and other techniques

  • Skilled in reading blueprints, weld symbols, and using measuring tools

  • Strong understanding of construction safety rules and job site protocols

  • Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 80 lbs and stand for extended periods

  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including confined spaces, high places, and noisy or dusty environments

  • Eligible to work in the United States

Compensation & Benefits

Below is the expected base pay range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.

Base Pay Range: $21–$23 per hour

Additional compensation may include:
