Job Overview:

Ready to Join Our Team? Join Transwest Mobile!

At Transwest Mobile, we're innovators and problem-solvers, delivering top-tier repair solutions across Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, and Utah. With over 25 years of trusted service, we keep contractors, municipalities, and fleet operators moving with minimal downtime. If you take pride in quality work, enjoy being part of a hands-on shop team, and want to make a real impact every day — let's connect!

About the Role

As a Trailer Technician, you'll report to our Phoenix-area shop each day, where you'll be dispatched in a company-provided service vehicle to diagnose, repair, and maintain semi-trailers and related equipment at customer sites — getting fleets back on the road fast. This is a hands-on role where your craftsmanship directly impacts our clients' bottom line.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailer components — including brakes, landing gear, suspension, axles, wiring, and lighting systems
  • Perform DOT compliance inspections and ensure all work meets federal and state safety standards
  • Conduct both scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs at the shop or on-site as needed
  • Troubleshoot air, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and service documentation
  • Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly to customers on-site
  • Maintain thorough, accurate records of all services, parts, and labor performed
  • Collaborate with dispatch and service teams to prioritize calls and manage daily workflow efficiently

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of hands-on trailer repair experience (brakes, suspension, electrical, landing gear, doors)
  • Solid understanding of DOT regulations and trailer inspection requirements
  • Ability to diagnose and repair air brake systems, lighting/electrical circuits, and structural components
  • Ability to supply own hand tools suitable for the role
  • Strong self-management skills — ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and as part of a shop team
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company service vehicle for repair calls
  • Ability to pass background checks, lift 50+ lbs, and work in indoor/outdoor environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASE certifications — particularly T4 (Brakes) or T5 (Suspension & Steering) preferred
  • Experience with refrigerated (reefer) trailers, flatbeds, or specialty trailer types
  • Prior mobile or field service repair experience
  • Customer-facing experience with strong communication skills
  • CDL-A or experience operating heavy equipment is a plus

Why Transwest Mobile?

  • Impactful Work — Keep critical freight-hauling equipment operational across the Phoenix market
  • Growth Opportunities — On-the-job training and development with industry-leading partners
  • Supportive Culture — A team that values innovation, collaboration, and your expertise
  • Company Vehicle — Service vehicle provided to travel to repair calls (based out of our shop; not a take-home vehicle); Technicians must supply their own hand tools

Benefits Include:

  • Health, Vision & Dental Insurance
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) with company match
  • 401(k)
  • Life & Disability Insurance
  • Paid Time Off & Holidays
  • Referral Bonus Program
  • Overtime opportunities based on performance
  • Work boot allowance, uniforms & cleaning provided
  • On-the-job training
