Job Overview:

Location: Houston, TX / La Marque, TX

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Range: $110K–$120K + performance bonus

We are seeking a Field/Shop Project Manager to oversee fabrication and field projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction across both environments. This role manages foremen, coordinates subcontractors, supervises shop production, and leads projects from pre-construction through close-out.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with strong critical thinking and time-management skills. They thrive in fast-paced environments, communicate clearly with teams and clients, and maintain strict safety and quality standards. A team-oriented leader who can mentor others, manage complex fabrication projects, and keep schedules and budgets on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct job site walks, estimating, and develop construction sequences
  • Supervise field personnel, manpower planning, materials, equipment, and schedules
  • Review submittals, coordinate QC plans (WPS, WPQ, NDE, ITP)
  • Manage subcontractor scopes, punch lists, and project close-out
  • Lead pre-construction planning, constructability reviews, and site logistics
  • Enforce safety standards and report incidents
  • Maintain strong client relationships
  • Oversee shop project scope, BOM, manufacturing methods, and QC compliance
  • Develop project schedules, kickoff meetings, documentation, and technical manuals
  • Support production managers, resolve manufacturing issues, and manage project costs
  • Issue change orders and maintain ERP project tracking

Experience Required

  • 5–10 years supervisory experience in fabrication shop
  • 3–5 years in superintendent role
  • Experience with pipe, vessels, burners, complex designs, structural items
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgy, welding procedures, ASME Code
  • Extensive experience with MIG, TIG, SAW, SMAW, FCAW
  • Fitting/welding of multiple alloys
  • Computer literate; ability to learn ERP systems
  • Field + shop supervision strongly preferred
