Job Description:

Dedicated to achieving unparalleled customer satisfaction and operational excellence, the Field Service Technician in Mechatronics specializes in providing top-notch service for our cutting-edge bagging and palletizing machinery. This role encompasses installation, commissioning, start-up, and debugging, as well as diverse projects such as upgrades, audits, and equipment optimization. Additionally, it involves conducting both formal and hands-on training sessions.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Satisfaction:

Diagnose and resolve complex issues in the mechanical, electrical, and software aspects of advanced packaging equipment, ensuring utmost customer satisfaction.
Lead the installation, commissioning, and start-up processes of new equipment, leveraging mechatronics expertise.
Conduct hands-on training sessions for customer personnel, focusing on safety, proper operation, and preventive maintenance.

Project Management:

Undertake diverse projects including upgrades, audits, and optimization of equipment to enhance overall system performance.
Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute projects within specified timelines and budget constraints.

Team Effectiveness and Efficiency:

Serve as a bridge between internal departments, fostering seamless communication and collaboration.
Provide remote technical support from the home office, utilizing mechatronics knowledge to troubleshoot and address customer queries effectively.
Communicate updates on customer equipment to internal departments for timely updates to technical documentation.

Technical Proficiency:

Utilize mechatronics skills to contribute to the updating of technical documentation, including manuals, drawings, program files, and in-house training programs.
Proficient in PLC programming to optimize the performance of packaging machinery.

Profitability:

Ensure project completion within quoted margins, combining mechatronics expertise with efficiency to meet financial objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

A degree in Mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the packaging industry, demonstrating expertise in mechatronics, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls systems.
Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills, with a diplomatic approach.
Ability to thrive in a team environment and contribute to collective success.
Proficient in PLC programming and basic computer skills (Word and Excel).
Possession of a valid driver’s license.

ADA Requirements:

Physical ability to bend, squat, climb, grasp, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Continuous walking, standing, and movement in a typical machine shop environment.
Familiarity with machine shop physical hazards, requiring respiratory protection.
Occasional operation of a computer with keyboarding skills.
Frequent travel by air and car (up to 80%)

The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000–$110,000 annually. Please note that the pay range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
