Job Description:

Our team of Field Service Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations. This position generally works onsite in customers’ facilities worldwide.

We are looking for Field Service Technicians who can work independently to ensure high quality customer service. If you have a passion for assisting customers and finding innovative technical solutions, this opportunity may be a great fit!

Daily Operations

  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs and modifications on the mechanical, electrical, or software aspects of equipment at customer sites to customer satisfaction.

  • Assist in the start-up, checkout, installation, and testing of new equipment.

  • Instruct personnel at customer sites on the safety, proper operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment to improve efficiency of customer productivity.

  • Build and maintain customer relationships.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • A two-year post high school diploma/certificate in electro-mechanical technology and a minimum of 3 years related experience, OR a high school diploma and a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and controls systems along with a general understanding of material handling practices.

  • Excellent customer relations and interpersonal relations skills including a high degree of diplomacy.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Experience in PLC Programming (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens S7 PLC’s)

  • Have an advanced understanding of VFD functions, operations, and programming

  • Advanced understanding of pneumatic and electrical Schematics and troubleshooting

  • Ability to troubleshoot wiring and complete I/O checks

  • Robotics experience a plus

  • Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be available for 50 - 60% travel.

Safety

  • Demonstrate responsibility for the personal safety of self and others by maintaining a clean, orderly hazard free work environment, and compliance with safety practices and regulations.

  • Actively promote Safety in a positive manner, proactively identifies and resolves Safety issues, report any apparent Safety concerns or violations to direct leader and/or CPD leader.

  • Volunteer for a Safety Gemba on the shop floor quarterly.

  • Participates in and assists with the implementation and sustainment of Operational Excellence best practices in alignment with the BW Way, Barry-Wehmiller’s framework to help us think and act in a systematic and disciplined way.

  • Ensure work areas are organized and maintained in the office and offer recommendations in the shop.

  • Create and utilize standard operating procedures and standard work documentation.

ADA Requirements

  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly.

  • Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for operation of a computer.

  • Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally.

  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards.

  • Noise level in the environment is usually moderate.

Compensation

The approximate pay range for this position is $35-44 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as background, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location of the position.
