JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: We are looking to fill a role of a Field Support Technician to support our Security Imaging CT (Computed Tomography) systems located in CA. In this position you will be responsible for building good relationships with the customers while performing a new system install, servicing an existing system or providing system maintenance in the field. It is important for the Field Support Technician to be organized and have excellent communication skills to support the customer and maintain communication with the corporate office. The right candidate for this position should have excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn. Our Field Support Technicians will be trained on our systems and receive support from managers and other Field Support Technicians, often remotely. There will be some travel to the corporate office in MA or NY for trainings.

 

ESSENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction; Conducts follow up calls with the customer to ensure satisfaction of work.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment in the field. 
  • Demonstrates good electronic repair troubleshooting methodology and maintains at least an intermediate technical level of product knowledge.
  • Ability to read and follow electrical/mechanical schematics to assist in isolating fault to root cause component/assembly.
  • Documents all inspections, maintenance, repair work and submits paperwork in a timely basis as required by SureScan Corp and customer contract.
  • Order, install, and return parts and manages repair parts cycle time.
  • Reviews all logs for open issues and prepares formal reports as necessary.
  • Participates in Service Sales opportunities and assists with promoting and implementing revenue programs as needed.
  • Assesses product/equipment performance based on field support data; recommends modifications or improvements.
  • Seeks to provide technical support to other SureScan Corp and third-party service professionals as required.
  • May participate in site surveys, pilot program service activities, attend meetings, champion special projects, and prepare exclusive reports.
  • Maintains clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written.
  • Establishes and maintains a close relationship with senior level FSS’s and Product Managers to support the needs of SureScan Corp.
  • Remains aware of current technical trends.
  • Exercises every available measure to control and minimize costs.
  • Travel and work hours outside of Monday-Friday are required.
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree or Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical) or Military Training (electrical, mechanical, electronics.)
  • Minimum of two years-experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Possesses basic technical knowledge of X-Ray technologies.
  • While supervision is not considered a primary responsibility of this position, there may be instances where supervision of others on a project basis may be required.

TRAVEL: 

  • Must be able to maintain a US Passport. Must be willing & able to travel at short notice Travel to customer sites is required.


 WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • This job operates in what is typically considered off-site locations, wherever SureScan Corp designates. Service will typically be rendered at airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships or other locations as required. This role routinely uses computers and electrical and mechanical tools.
  • While performing some duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual.
  • Possess excellent telephone skills.
  • Ability to lift item up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to push/pull 200 lbs.
  • Must be able to move/ manipulate equipment weighing up to 1000 lbs. with the assistance of carts, hoists, davit cranes, pallet jacks or other devices as defined in the manuals and Technical Advisory documentation.
  • Job requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full body mobility.
  • Must be able to work safely and follow safety precautions in extreme environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces, etc.) around dangerous industrial equipment.

 

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (if applicable):
