**What is the Position?
**
Reporting to the Manager – Technical Operations the Field Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining and supporting customer equipment, including installation, diagnostics, maintenance and calibration of industrial packaging equipment and machinery at Pak-Tec customer manufacturing and distribution facilities. We serve a wide range of manufacturing sectors - the largest customer base is food/beverage manufacturers.

This role is ideal for those who enjoy hands-on, problem-solving responsibilities. This role is NOT for those who prefer to spend their time at a desk. This role requires technicians who are self-driven, who welcome problem-solving opportunities, and who are responsive to customers' needs. Being able to work with people is a must, along with organizational skills and the ability to think on their feet.
Overnight travel is required (50%) and it can vary greatly from time to time. Some projects/assignments may require air travel and multiple days on site. Regional travel is required. Most of the work will take place at customer manufacturing facilities.
This position will be located in Richmond, Virginia or surrounding areas and will be remote.
**What Does the Typical Day Look Like?
**
You will Self-schedule projects and service calls
Prompt communication with team and customers
Provide ongoing care and support for our customers’ equipment.
install, diagnose, audit, service, and repair industrial labeling machinery and packaging equipment in industrial manufacturing facilities.
Diagnose and resolve challenges and problems.
Conduct training on equipment, its capabilities and operation to the customer; responds to all questions in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
Accurately completes all necessary paperwork including but not limited to work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedule
**100% travel within a 5-7-hour radius of Richmond Virginia
**. You can expect occasional overnight stays with company-paid accommodation and meals.
Assist sales team on various sales projects and demonstrations; Promote service contracts and additional technical services
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
**Essential requirements?
**
2+ Years’ Technical and/or Manufacturing experience.
Willingness to travel 100% of the time to customer facilities.
Experience repairing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing different kinds of equipment. Electrical and mechanical experience is preferred.
PLC Programming encouraged
Ability to travel (overnight when required)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Professional appearance and demeanor
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
