The successful candidate for this Indianapolis-based position must either live in the local area or be prepared to relocate/commute to the Public Safety customers location.
Responsibilities include offering technical support for custom mission critical systems and products. This involves advanced troubleshooting of software-based electronics, setting up communication infrastructure, and optimizing the performance of RF and Broadband architectures, including legacy analog and modern digital P25 data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the optimization, maintenance, testing, and documentation of sophisticated communication networks.
Submit weekly status reports detailing completed tasks and milestones.
Utilize deep expertise in wired systems (LAN/WAN) to install, configure, and maintain network components like routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling.
Maintain server hardware, operating systems, and software, resolving any application or system issues through effective troubleshooting.
Candidate Requirements:
Technical Expertise: 2+ years of experience with Motorola Base Stations (Quantar, STR, GTR) and Centracom Consoles (Gold Elite, MCC7500). IP network configuration and T1 circuits is required, Motorola ASTRO Digital, Conventional, MCC Consoles, and SmartNet systems. Proven experience in P25, LMR, SmartZone, and Smartnet environments is necessary, specifically regarding ASTRO systems, radios, and RF infrastructure. Capable of configuring Juniper Routers and Aruba Switches, with a preferred background in Nokia LTE or Private LTE systems.
Certifications & Education: An Associate's Degree in IT or Electronics, or a minimum of 3 to 4 years of field experience. Professional certifications like CCNA, Network+, or NRS1 are highly valued.
General Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Motorola programming software, combined with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Compliance: Must hold a clean, valid driver's license.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $55,000 - $72,500 USD
