Field Service Technician

Summary:
The below job description outlines the role of a Field Service Technician who will handle installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery, along with developing expertise in fabric welding and equipment operation. The candidate will provide customer support and contribute to team efforts. Key qualifications include strong leadership and interpersonal skills. The role demands physical labor and significant travel. The position aims to maintain high standards in operational practices and team culture.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and service machines both in-house and at the customers site (international and domestic).
- Provide customer demonstrations, training, and support, including phone assistance.
- Participate in tradeshows as needed.
- Produce visual documentation of equipment prior to shipment.
- Writing daily end of day reports during all installs.
- Work closely with service department.
- Adhere to timelines for testing and installation of machines. Work overtime as needed based on deadlines.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude for machinery installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Diagnosing and resolving equipment and component issues in the field.
- Comfortable with customer-facing interactions, including training, demonstrations, and support.
- Organizational and time-management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Able to work independently in the field while maintaining clear communication with project teams.
- Minimum 3 yrs work related experience
- Valid Driver’s License with no criminal background

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Frequent use of hand dexterity and fine motor skills when working with tools and machinery.
- Regular visual acuity required for equipment operation, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl in machinery environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work environments include customer facilities, shop floor, and tradeshow settings.
- Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 50% or more travel (domestic and international), including overnight stays.
