Field Service Technician Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at our facility located in Long Island, NY, 11101. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Electrical Schematics, and possess strong troubleshooting skills for industrial automation equipment.

Role and Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary driver for maintaining Bloom Energy servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Utilize extensive product and industry knowledge to offer technical support to customers, specializing in fuel cell system maintenance, site upkeep, safety protocols, and issue resolution.
Demonstrate proficiency in working independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of diverse electrical and mechanical systems, enabling effective troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Effectively manage internal and external communication channels to coordinate tasks and ensure seamless operations.

**Skills and Experience: **

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting/repair skills; understanding of mechanical systems, piping, plumbing and valve operation preferred
Electrical experience required, troubleshooting & repair skills necessary
Prior experience as an electrician in any of the following: 3phase systems, UPS (back-up power) systems, maintenance, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, Automatic Transfer Switch Systems, and microprocessor-based control platforms is highly beneficial
Experience with various test and measurement equipment, electrical codes and personnel safety products and procedures.
Must be able to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and blueprints
Experience with performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standard for Electrical Power
Experience with monitoring/operating systems in operation
Basic understanding of requirements of working safely
Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills to deal with most situations.

Able to communicate effectively in English in both written and or verbal form to facilitate duties as required

Able to facilitate shift work as needed
Able to travel as needed
