Job Overview:

Position Summary


ISS is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician with strong pump system experience. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing pumps, controls, valves, and piping both at customer sites and in our service shop. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, safety-conscious, and capable of delivering excellent technical service. A valid Driver’s License and clean driving record are required.


Key Responsibilities


  • Travel to customer locations for equipment diagnostics and repairs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues involving electric motors, pumps, controls, piping, and valves
  • Install and remove new or repaired equipment as needed
  • Provide expert-level customer service and technical support
  • Maintain accurate truck inventory and service vehicle readiness
  • Complete field service reports and required documentation
  • Must be available for after-hours and on-call shifts
  • Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics for equipment assembly and repairs
  • Perform failure assessments and recommend repair plans, including formulating material takeoffs, job scopes, and time assessments for repairs
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company with a customer-focused attitude


Qualifications


  • Proficient in working with 208/230/460V and single-phase power systems
  • Solid understanding of electrical panel components and troubleshooting methods
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pump control troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with electric motors – installation, service, and repair
  • Familiarity with various pump types including submersible, centrifugal, vertical turbine, and self-priming pumps
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, meggers, and laser alignment systems
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Capable of working independently to complete routine pump and control service tasks
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment equipment is a strong plus
