The Adventure
As a Field Service Technician, you’ll travel extensively—up to 75% internationally—working on an incredible range of marine vessels, from cutting‑edge naval ships to some of the largest and most luxurious yachts on the planet.
You’ll be the expert our customers rely on in the field, installing, commissioning, repairing, and maintaining AdvanTec windows, doors, hatches, and cranes. This is a role for someone who thrives on independence, enjoys solving puzzles on the fly, and isn’t afraid to get creative—think modern‑day MacGyver, but with a passport.
What You’ll Do
- Travel domestically and internationally to service marine vessels in ports around the world
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine windows, doors, hatches, and cranes
- Deliver exceptional, hands-on customer service as the face of AdvanTec in the field
- Diagnose issues and find practical, efficient solutions—sometimes with limited resources
- Coordinate with Sales Support to respond quickly to in‑field service needs
- Assist with costing, scheduling, and preparing service quotes
- Support and collaborate with other Field Service Technicians
- Follow documented procedures and complete service reports and records
- Spend time on the production floor assembling products to build deep product knowledge
What Makes You a Great Fit?
- A strong mechanical aptitude and curiosity about how things work
- Experience with direct bond glazing, marine/automotive glass, door installation, or electrical and hydraulic systems
- Able to travel internationally and comfortable traveling internationally and living out of a suitcase (up to 75% travel)
- Calm, professional, and confident when representing the company with customers
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Hands-on experience in equipment manufacturing, installation, or repair (3–5 years)
- Experience with marine window installation, ERP systems, or light fabrication (steel/aluminum) is a strong asset
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must pass a pre‑hire drug test and provide proof of U.S. citizenship
