Position Overview:

The Field Service Technician at BradyPLUS proactively maintains equipment, performs repairs, and conducts onsite installation and testing tasks while representing the company in a professional and safe manner.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Document processes as needed.
  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systems.
  • Follow all company procedures and protocols.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings.
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner.
  • Work safely and follow appropriate policies and government-mandated guidelines for safe handling and work processes.
  • Coordinate and prioritize needs and tasks as they change.
  • Meet industry performance and quality standards.
  • Cross-departmental engagement with internal support teams to promote customer service, good teamwork, and help meet company goals.
  • Repair all floor and carpet care equipment sold by the company and, where applicable, other makes and models.
  • Coordinate with Sanitary Maintenance Consultants and Service Center Manager for appointments.
  • Calculate estimates on parts and labor when requested and notify customer.
  • Maintain and keep the vehicle clean at all times, inside and out, and dispose of all trash.
  • Check oil, battery, radiator, power steering, and brake fluid.
  • Label and repair all machines as required when brought into Service Center for repair or done on site.
  • Upon completion of repair, properly fill out repair work order.
  • Make on-location service calls to larger equipment when not feasible to bring into Service Department and perform preventative maintenance when applicable.
  • Keep work area in clean and safe condition.
  • Operate forklift if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years experience with industrial equipment repair and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, diagrams and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuitry.
  • Ability to interact face to face with customers in a positive manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AS400, and Internet.
  • Strong time management and project management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum High School Diploma.
  • Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Ability to foster and maintain professional relationships.
  • Able to manage high-stress or busy periods while remaining focused, positive, and united.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.
  • Complex problem-solving from a technical mechanical perspective
  • Committed to continuing to expand knowledge and capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Well-organized and able to prioritize.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. may be required  with some industrial machine assistance available.
  • Ability to manage fluctuating stress levels that come as a natural part of running a business.
  • Steady moderate to high activity and movement throughout the day.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required as business demands dictate, typically a minimum of 40 hours per week.
