Field Service Engineer / Service Technician

Location: Elgin, Illinois / Remote with Travel

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 + Bonus

Industry: Original Equipment Manufacturer

Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills?

A leading machinery manufacturer is looking for a Field Service Engineer to install, service and repair industrial processing equipment at customer sites across North America.

Responsibilities:

• Install and commission new machinery
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and controls faults
• Complete preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
• Support machine assembly and retrofit projects
• Read electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Train customers on machine operation and troubleshooting
• Complete service reports, expense records and warranty documentation
• Travel to customer sites approximately 40–75% of the time

Requirements:

• Field service or industrial equipment maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge
• Experience troubleshooting PLC or PC-based control systems
• Working knowledge of servo-hydraulic systems
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Experience with injection molding or processing machinery is advantageous
• Valid passport and willingness to travel throughout the US and occasionally internationally

Benefits:

• $70,000–$90,000 base salary, depending on experience
