Job Overview:

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and use all ALS, Choke, Closure, and pump tools, products and services
  • Receive paperwork and any corresponding instructions associated with job
  • Maintain service reports and related documentation
  • Perform, verify, and inspect equipment upon arriving to customer site
  • Install, evaluate, test, repair equipment and products
  • Provide troubleshooting as necessary
  • Complete all required forms, Service Tickets, Bill of lading’s & obtain signature by the Company representative as applicable
  • Complete monthly company vehicle maintenance
  • Maintain monthly expense reports as it relates to work activities, customer requirements etc.
  • Communicates with customer, supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel as it relates to the job.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area and to follow all safety and field procedures required by the customer.
  • Complete all paperwork as required by job
  • Operates a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts
  • Must follow all Department of Transportation regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform service jobs, single-handedly if needed
  • Responsible for keeping equipment clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on company tooling and equipment.
  • Responsible for properly securing materials in vehicle to limit damage to products when transporting for repair projects.
  • Maintain inventory to include cycle counts, etc.
  • Load and unload material for jobs.
  • Deliver product to the field as needed by customer
  • Communicate all problems with Service Supervisor.
  • Maintain all required training needed for personnel as mandate by NOV, HSE, Service Department and Customer
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
  • Interact professionally with team members, other employees, customers, and suppliers
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
  • Carry out job requirements in accordance with established procedures and specifications
  • Participate in actions which promote a safety and quality culture within NOV
  • Comply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures
  • Ensure compliance of the company’s overall objectives
  • Other duties as assigned by Field Service Supervisor and/or Regional Manager

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math and writing skills
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience as a Field Service Technician and/or related field.
  • Preferred pump, midstream, and production equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Be on a rotating 24-hour call including weekends.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with superiors, co-workers and Rig personnel.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation loading and weight distribution requirements.
  • Prior forklift and lifting device operation experience a plus.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be user literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Must be able to read a key map or street map to locate field equipment.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts, changing work schedules and available to travel.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
  • Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division for the purpose of inventory tracking, cycle counts and other functions related to the position. 
  • Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
  • Must be able to stand and work in adverse conditions (outside in all types of weather or inside in a manufacturing environment) for a minimum of 8 hours. 
  • Must be able to use simple measuring instruments (tape measure, caliper, etc.). 
  • Must be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to manually work multiple levers and Knobs in association with applicable machines or equipment.
