JOB SUMMARY:
To provide field service (set-up, repair, maintenance) as needed on Stolle product lines to international and
domestic customers. Provide production expertise as required and as assigned when not engaged in providing
external customer service.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include:
• Able to perform the following tasks on a limited scope:
o Checks machine functionality utilizing a pre-determined checklist. Make recommendations to customer;
to improve machine performance, replacement parts, for spare parts list or
if overhaul is required. Overhaul machinery as requested, test and troubleshoot as required.
o Machine Set Up/Start Up/Warranty: Test, trouble-shoot, adjust machinery to ensure the smoother operation
of the same.
o Knowledge of Allen Bradley products- Control Logix, Guard Logic, Kinetix 7000, Kinetix 6500,
BootP software for setting up Ethernet addresses, Compact Logix, Devicenet, etc.
• Be prepared to be versatile and flexible for the customer. Diagnose machinery issues
via phone. Must respond as a statesman and representative of Stolle Machinery Co.
under pressure.
• Provide training in one-on-one or group format critical information about machinery, with or
without the use of an interpreter. Insure understanding for effective and efficient operation of
machinery before departure.
• Documents all issues, normal or unusual, as presented through written description and or the use of pictures.
Insures reports are submitted for each service visit. Complete accurate Service/Call Time Report for
company/customer use.
• Remain in contact with base location and peer Field Service Technicians for assistance,
additional information, trouble-shooting expertise as required.
• Production: Not limited to manufacture, assemble, wire, test, troubleshoot/diagnose, adjust, clean/prep
and all other associated functions with Stolle product lines.
• Able to install/de-bug, electrical assemblies, sensors, systems, wiring, programming, etc…
Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:
High School graduate, GED or Vocational study- Industrial Mechanics, Machine Shop,
Manufacturing or related fields.
• 0-3 year’s experience.
• Mechanically Inclined, strong orientation for mathematics- able to calculate proportions, percentages, area,
circumference and volume – basic algebra and geometry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in the canmaking industry, manufacturing methods, process improvement programs preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications for equipment,
manuals, instructions, reports, financial statements, etc…
• Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business software applicable to the industry.
This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
• Work schedule generally consists of 50 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings and/or weekends.
• Regularly required to sit; use hands or fingers, talk and/or hear. Also required to stand, walk and
reach with arms and hands. Able to regularly lift/ move up to 50 lbs.
• Availability and willingness to travel 20-70% domestic/international (required). Must be ready to travel with less than 24 hours’ notice.
• Must be able to obtain a valid passport and a valid driver’s license.
