Purpose of Role:
The Field Service Technician provides the labor to inspect, demolish, and install metal and fabric expansion joints for various heavy-industry applications. Works under the direction of the FS Supervisor and FS Project Manager to complete work tasks as a team and individual contributor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the project manager, install expansion joints at customer locations (power
plants, refineries, etc.).
- Lift, carry, and physically transport project materials and consumables to installed locations.
- Demolish / install products containing non-ceramic insulation and fiberglass cloths
- Welding, grinding, and other hot work on carbon and stainless steels (not required for all technicians)
- Rigging and lifting of metal bellows to prepare for welding.
- Represent organization as a model for safety and professionalism.
- Meet and exceed customer expectations for on-time project completion.
- Adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.
- Follows the safety policies and procedures of the company and our customer locations.
- Other duties assigned by the project manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma / GED
- Entry-level, no expansion joint industry experience required
- Laborer: OSHA 10-hour, OSHA Basic Plus, or similar; Site-specific safety
certifications as required.
- Welder / Technician: welding certification by authorized entity, in addition to
welding examination administered at EagleBurgmann shop.
- All positions must have technical aptitude, ability to work with and lead small
teams to accomplish assigned tasks.
