Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining our mail sorting machines and equipment at client locations in the greater Washington, DC metro area and various other locations around the country. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on interesting equipment in various environments while contributing to the continued rapid growth of the company.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating travel with customers and team leadership
- Travel frequently and on short notice
- Work independently on-site
- Repair, upgrade, and perform preventative maintenance on mail sorting machines in the field
- Collaborate with the existing field service team
- Maintain documentation and create reports
Skills
- Proficient with all hand-held tools, including drills, drivers, jigsaws, portablebandsaws, grinders
- Good at traveling, meaning experience catching flights/trains and using rental cars
Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices
- Knowledge of motors, belts, pulley systems
- Have a keen eye for detail and quality assurance
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems
- Self-motivating
Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in field service
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to read shop drawings
- Ability to adhere to a timeline
- Experience with traveling frequently
- Effectively communicate with fellow team members and leadership
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to lift, move and travel with up to 100lbs of tools and parts
- Able to crouch, crawl, and work on the ground for extended periods
- Clean background check
- Eligible to work in the United States
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 + per year

- Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
Location:
- Various locations around the greater D.C. area and around the country
- Travel to and work in our primary facility in Wilmington, DE 19801 if needed
