Under the direction of Field Service personnel, installs, tests, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and removes electrical, mechanical, and /or hydraulic components and equipment. May provide technical assistance to engineers for weapon system design and development. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Field Service personnel with removing and overhauling electrical, mechanical systems and equipment using government authorized procedures. Assist in coordinating tests, or modifying a wide variety of teat equipment using authorized test procedures. Sets up and operates equipment and records data. Applies conventional engineering practices to develop or prepare schematics, parts lists, or make recommendations regarding these items. Responds to Fleet emergency calls from customer and assigned Field Service personnel and maintains an inventory of parts and tooling for Field Service operations. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies. Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.

Typical Education and Experience

Typically a High School Diploma and 1 year work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

• High School Diploma/GED
• Two years vocational training to work with basic electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic tools and instrumentation hardware.
• Two years of related experience on Weapon System equipment to perform troubleshooting, assembly, disassembly, repair, and operation of complex equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with word processing, database management, email, and calendar software.  

Preferred Skills and Education

Physical Requirements:

• Required to sit, move about, and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
