Field Service Engineer - Southwestern

**Schedule: **Full-Time Remote, salaried position with travel

**Position Summary: **

The Field Service Engineer role requires a motivated, self-starter who is able to work remotely with minimal supervision. The majority of time is spent at customer locations, with travel up to four overnights / five days per week depending on workload. The Field Service Engineer builds and maintains relationships as a customer facing member of the team while supporting service activities at customer facilities. This role provides maintenance, repairs, upgrades, installations, and training on analytical and metallographic instrumentation in our Southwestern Region. Primary service area comprised of one or more of the following states: Texas and Louisiana with travel to surrounding regions on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will reside near Houston, TX. This position offers a $5,000 signing bonus.

**Position Responsibilities: **

• Provide preventive/general maintenance, breakdown repair, troubleshooting and corrective actions to analytical and metallographic instrumentation
• Perform new instrumentation installations as well as updates and upgrade kit installations
• Provide training on theory, operation, software, and good maintenance practices
• Maintain accurate inventory records, expense reports, and vehicle logs.

**Position Requirements: **

• Self-motivated, having the accountability to work remotely with limited supervision.

• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

• Adhere to customer’s site and safety requirements while conducting yourself in a professional manner

• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Attend instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for a period of 3-5 months

• Complete field service training with experienced field service engineers throughout the country

• Attend annual service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan

• Ability to travel daily with up to four overnight hotel stays per week (Monday – Friday).

• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Pass a background check and substance abuse screenings

• Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction

• Strong mechanical skills, and previous experience with AC and DC electronics, or the ability to learn

• Chemistry or military background is advantageous, but not required

**Education/Certifications: **

One or more of the following:

• Two Year Technical Degree or Trade School
• Prior Military experience with training in a technical field
• Equivalent work experience or training in a technical field
