Job Description

Teledyne Monitor Labs, a leading provider of air measurement instrumentation and software solutions, is seeking a qualified professional to join our Field Service Team. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality service and support for Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS), ensuring compliance with customer requirements while consistently meeting or exceeding performance expectations. The successful candidate will be committed to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction.

Job Description

The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing onsite installation, service, and technical support for Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and related instrumentation. Key responsibilities include system startup and commissioning, preventive maintenance, technical troubleshooting, quarterly quality assurance testing, and operational performance evaluations to ensure compliance with product specifications and customer requirements.

This position will primarily support multiple data center facilities throughout the Houston area. Due to project requirements, the role is expected to involve a 50-hour workweek during the first year. Comprehensive training will be provided at our Denver, Colorado office, with the duration of training based on the candidate’s experience and technical background.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite installation, commissioning, diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance of Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and related instrumentation.
  • Work safely and effectively in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Climb ladders and stairs and work from elevated platforms at heights ranging from 20 to 200 feet while adhering to all applicable safety requirements.
  • Independently manage assigned tasks and responsibilities while maintaining Teledyne's standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills when interacting with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers via telephone and other remote communication methods.
  • Accurately document service activities, maintenance performed, and technical findings in work orders.
  • Comply with all company safety policies, customer site requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in engineering, technology, or a related scientific field.
  • Five to ten years of relevant field experience in troubleshooting, repairing analytical equipment, and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Requirements

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to provide effective technical support in the field and remotely.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also managing responsibilities independently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight as required to support customer and project needs.
