Job Overview:

The Field Service Engineer role will be responsible for performing onsite service work with a high level of quality, and assembly of spare parts and retrofits according to the mechanical and electrical prints. Confirming projects that you are assigned to are completed and functioning per specifications. Supporting OEM assembly and other areas in need during non-scheduled service. All areas of work must be performed with the highest level of efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism.

Your role in our team

  • You will travel to customer sites at a minimum of 50% and additional is preferred
  • You will perform initial commissioning/debug at customer sites
  • You will perform repair, maintenance, or SLA services on equipment at customer sites
  • You will perform advance diagnosis and testing
  • You will demonstrate flexibility to support customer projects with potential short notice and off schedule days
  • You will determine and report defective materials or questionable conditions for further service
  • You will ensure the customer’s machine has a quality cosmetic appearance upon completion
  • You will stay updated on machine designs and latest training with support in OEM assembly
  • You will build spare parts and retrofit assemblies according to prints
  • You will display a positive attitude everyday
  • You will promote the company and fellow employees in a positive manner
  • You will show a strong eagerness to learn
  • You will show initiative towards excelling with the company
  • You will work with internal department team members to process paperwork and reporting
  • You will work on special projects when available for improvements in efficiency, productivity, and cross departmental projects
  • You will attend and participate in company meetings
  • You will complete peer evaluations as requested
  • You will complete self-evaluations as requested

Your profile

  • You have obtained a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Associates degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Machine Assembly Technology, or equivalent preferred
  • You have gained experience in manufacturing and automation equipment maintenance/repair
  • You have the ability to travel at least 50%
  • You are able to read and understand prints and models for mechanical Assembly
  • You are able to read and understand prints for Electrical wiring
  • You have intermediate mechanical knowledge
  • You have basic technical mathematical knowledge
  • You have basic to intermediate electrical knowledge
  • You have excellent customer facing skills
  • You display great attention to detail
  • You demonstrate a professional appearance
  • You have “Thinks like the business owner” mentality
  • You can work independently as well as with a team effectively to achieve our goals
  • You can communicate clearly (verbal and written)
  • You have the ability to use hand tools and power tools at a skillful level
  • You have basic to intermediate computer literacy (including Microsoft programs, and/or business software)

Your working environment:

  • Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, sharp tools, jagged material, aluminum and plastic shavings, machinery that has moving parts, and exposed electrical or electronic circuitry
  • You have the ability to lift to forty pounds
  • You have the ability to regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility
