Field Service & Deployment Engineer - Remote/TravelWhat We NeedWe are looking for a Field Service & Deployment Engineer to join our Field Operations team within our Operations organization. In this role, you will deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support our autonomous forklift robotic systems at customer sites. This is a highly hands-on position that is critical to ensuring our robotic solutions are installed successfully, operate reliably, and deliver value to customers from day one.What We DoThe Field Operations team is responsible for deploying, supporting, and optimizing Symbotic's newly acquired autonomous forklift robotics solutions (formerly Fox Robotics) in real-world customer environments.Working directly with customers, the team:Deploys and commissions new robotic systemsMaintains high system uptime and reliabilityTroubleshoots and resolves technical issuesProvides ongoing field support and customer trainingPartners with Engineering, Product, and Technical Support to improve product reliability, deployment processes, and the overall customer experienceWhat You'll DoLead and support on-site deployments of autonomous robotic systems, including installation, calibration, commissioning, and startup activities.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues to quickly restore system performance and minimize downtime.Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system health checks to ensure reliable operation.Support remote diagnostics and resolve customer escalations in collaboration with Engineering and Technical Support teams.Train customer operators and site personnel on system operation, safety procedures, and best practices.Document all field service activities, including repairs, troubleshooting steps, photos, and site conditions to support internal tracking and continuous improvement.Travel extensively (up to 100%) to customer sites while working independently in warehouse and industrial environments.What You'll NeedBachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.2+ years of experience in field service, robotics, industrial automation, material handling equipment, or a similar technical role.Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and basic software systems.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.Experience using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical documentation.Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively (up to 100%).Ability to safely lift equipment and work around industrial machinery in warehouse environments.
