The Field Operator II is responsible for safely and reliably operating, inspecting, and maintaining pipeline facilities while supporting regional operational goals. This role includes inspecting pipe, valves, facilities, and pigging equipment; launching and receiving pigging tools; coordinating product transfers; performing measurement, sampling, calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and equipment replacements.

What you will do:

  • Supports pipeline maintenance, emergency repairs, stopples, spill containment, cleanup, and emergency response activities while maintaining facilities, buildings, and yards in a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible condition.

  • Supports damage prevention and right-of-way integrity by responding to One-Call tickets, performing line locating, monitoring excavations, coordinating third-party crossings, and working with contractors and third parties to ensure safe and compliant operations.

  • Performs preventive maintenance and regulatory inspections such as tank inspections, valve inspections, facility security inspections, quality control sampling, monthly shakeouts, and required documentation in Enbridge reporting systems.

Who you are:

  • Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of oil and gas experience.

  • A valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain required OQ qualifications before performing covered tasks independently.

  • Strong communication skills, familiarity with pipeline equipment and instrumentation.

  • Ability to follow procedures without deviation.

  • Participation in an alcohol/substance-free on-call rotation.

Preferred:

  • College degree or technical school diploma.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily field oriented, with specific office duties for training, meetings, documentation of tasks as required by the US Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which Enbridge must comply.

  • Must be willing to be on-call as required to support the operation of the pipeline system.

  • Must be willing to respond to emergencies that may require working longer hours.

Physical Requirements:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
