Field Operations Manager - Workforce Operations

Location: Southeast U.S.

Travel: 80–90% nationwide travel

Position Overview

Impact Workforce Solutions (IWS) is seeking an experienced IWS Field Operations Manager to support the launch, stabilization, and ongoing success of our on-site workforce operations across the United States.

This is a hands-on, highly travel-based role for an operations leader who can step into a new or existing client location, quickly assess the operation, build relationships, and take ownership.

You will support new account launches, recruit and onboard employees, train and develop on-site teams, provide interim leadership, and help improve existing operations.

The ideal candidate can do the work, teach the work, and lead the work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new on-site implementations from initial setup through stabilization.
  • Step in as an interim on-site leader during launches, vacancies, transitions, or other business needs.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train employees to meet client workforce needs.
  • Train, coach, and develop Workforce Operations Managers and on-site teams.
  • Manage employee engagement, attendance, performance, corrective actions, investigations, and terminations.
  • Monitor staffing levels and help address recruiting, attendance, turnover, and workforce gaps.
  • Support timekeeping, payroll, billing, reporting, and workforce management processes.
  • Build strong relationships with client HR, managers, and operational leadership.
  • Evaluate site performance, identify operational or process gaps, and implement solutions.
  • Help resolve employee, client, and operational issues and escalations.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, operational standards, and client requirements are consistently followed.
  • Communicate site performance, risks, challenges, and action plans to IWS leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in workforce operations, staffing, recruiting, employee management, client relations, multi-site operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage an on-site workforce operation.
  • Strong hands-on recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management experience.
  • Experience training, coaching, and developing managers and teams.
  • New account, site, location, or program implementation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong client relationship, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly assess unfamiliar operations, prioritize issues, and work independently.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS, ATS, timekeeping, payroll, and workforce management systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.

Travel & Location Requirements

This position requires 80–90% nationwide travel, including frequent overnight stays and extended assignments.

Candidates should reside in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, or Alabama, preferably near a major airport.

The role may occasionally require early morning, evening, weekend, or short-notice travel based on client needs.

When not traveling or working at a client location, this position is remote.

This is not a traditional work-from-home position. The successful candidate will be adaptable, self-directed, comfortable working in changing client environments, and willing to roll up their sleeves wherever the business needs them most.
