General Summary:
The Field HVAC Service Technician works both locally in the factory as well as travels to customer locations around the country to provide service work on XeteX custom air handling equipment. Responsible for successful startup of new installations at customer sites, rapid resolution of service and warranty issues, and over all technical support to customers. Duties & Responsibilities:
· Communicates with customers via phone, email or face-to-face to answer technical questions.
· Coordinates with the service manager for logistics, planning, and execution of field repairs.
· Delivers prompt, professional solutions for customer inquiries.
· Provides remote troubleshooting to customers on equipment issues.
· Manages new installations at customer locations.
· Travels to customer locations to provide warranty and technical support.
· Assists in training of XeteX employees engaged in service tasks.
· Champions the opinions and suggestions of customers as appropriate to management as part of the continuous improvement process for service.
· Participates as needed with Customer visit and presentations.
· Works onsite during the assembly of new units assisting with wiring, piping, HVAC controls, and refrigeration systems.
· Testing new HVAC units prior to deployment
Preferred:
· 2-year HVAC certificate
· EPA or 608 Certification
Minimum:
· 5 years minimum HVAC Industry experience and/or DDC Controls experience.
· Detail-oriented, ability to plan, organize, set priorities and manage multiple projects.
· High level of analytical ability required.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
· Ability to exercise independent judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
· Ability to travel independently up to 40%
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
· Must be able to climb a ladder to access equipment.
· Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
