Job Overview:

  • Communicate fiber deliveries
  • Assign and schedule fiber room duties
    • BIN Audits
    • Prioritize fiber returns and fibers to shoot
    • Prioritize what fibers are shelved
    • Monitor remake log/200um fiber issues
    • Monitor Buffer tube orphanage inventory
  • Put away fiber:
    • Remove fiber spools from pin-carts and/or boxes
    • Place spool into fiber storage bins
    • Using barcode scanner and/or manual entry, perform SAP transactions as fiber is stored
    • Check label (correct color ID and does length seem reasonable)
    • Wrap fiber spool with stretch wrap
  • Select fiber for production orders:
    • Using SAP Fiber Selection, choose appropriate fiber spools
      • Group orders to maximize production efficiency
      • Choose fiber that results in minimal matching loss and returns
    • Remove Fiber Spool from Bin and place onto cart
    • Provide all required paperwork for production operator
    • Push cart of fiber to appropriate area
  • Other miscellaneous duties include but are not limited to:
    • Fiber select remake orders
    • Pull fiber for engineering trials
    • Perform housekeeping duties as directed
    • Perform cycle counts/inventories as directed
