Job Overview:

Position Summary

Samsung Electronics Home Appliances is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer (1st/2nd shift rotation). This position is responsible for maintaining the production machinery equipment and operating press-stamping tools.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain machinery equipment in good working order.

  • Support FE leaders to develop quality management plans of production facilities in order to produce high quality products.

  • Generate reports to record equipment downtime, maintenance repair, and preventive maintenance on a regular basis to comply with regulations and internal policies.

  • Repair and develop preventive maintenance programs through monitoring system.

  • Inspect existing facilities and prepare reports on the condition, deficiencies observed, designs necessary for repairs and estimated cost of repairs.

  • Perform EHS chemical training to new hires and ensure compliance by conducting yearly refresher trainings for team.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must be able to work on second shift.

  • Bi-lingual Korean-English (preferred).

  • Education:

    • Minimum High School Diploma/GED required with a technical emphasis in engineering or other related field is required.

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 10 years of machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing work environment with a High School Diploma/GED is required; OR

    • 5-6 years of machine maintenance experience with a Technical College Degree is preferred; OR

    • 2-3 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other related field is preferred.

    • Experience in operating robot programs and Troubleshooting (ABB Robot, Yukawa Robot, KUKA Robot) is preferred.

  • Knowledge:

    • PLC, Touch Program and Troubleshooting (Mitsubishi PLC, Siemens PLC, Allen-Bradley etc.) required.

    • Understanding of production equipment and operation, and safety requirements related to the facilities and production equipment.

    • Understanding of Electric Control: Understanding of system improvement, system movement sequence, and electric parts.

    • Understanding of Hydraulic systems and relevant safety regulations.

  • Skills:

    • Bi-lingual Korean-English (preferred)

    • Communication (High proficiency and linguistic command in English (speaking and writing))

    • Proficient Microsoft office

    • Project Management

    • Problem Solving

    • Collaboration

    • Attention to detail

  • Domestic role. Some direct interaction with Korean HQ or region.
