Micron is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Failure Analysis Product & Process Technician to lead and support advanced failure analysis and yield improvement operations. This role plays a critical part in enabling innovation and operational excellence within our fabrication environment. As a senior contributor, you will work in a lab-based setting using complex imaging and electrical testing equipment, collaborating with multi-functional teams to drive process improvements, trouble-shoot high-impact issues, and mentor other technicians. Responsibilities:
Perform advanced failure analysis and yield monitoring using imaging microscopes, electrical testing tools, and silicon wafer de-processing techniques.
Lead trouble-shooting efforts for complex lab and process issues, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive resolution.
Support workstation and operational improvements by identifying bottlenecks and implementing strategic solutions.
Conduct data analysis to inform process decisions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Mentor and train junior technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and technical standards.
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly through written reports and verbal updates.
Maintain and improve lab documentation, procedures, and safety compliance.
Alternate between imaging tool operation, wafer handling, and yield monitoring tasks as needed.
Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and upgrades to support lab efficiency.
Participate in multi-functional projects and contribute to long-term strategic goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Science (AS) degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off), including flexibility to change shifts and work overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent military/industry experience.
2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment using complex imaging tools and chemical handling.
Proven track record of identifying performance gaps and implementing strategic improvements.
Strong understanding of semiconductor processes and lab operations.
Experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
Experience working safely with hazardous chemicals and fragile silicon wafers, including use of PPE.
Introductory data analysis skills and ability to alternate between lab tasks and yield monitoring.
