Job Overview:

**Summary: **

The Maintenance Technician performs facility-related duties, maintains facility-related equipment, and maintains production-related equipment and tooling. Performs tests, analyses, and adjust electro-mechanical devices such as timers, mechanical/solid state relays, solenoid valves, and electrically activated regulators.

Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:

* Performs facility-related duties and recordkeeping as required.

* Installs and repairs of leaking pipes, clogged pipes and air lines, etc., as well as electrical and lighting fixtures.

* Performs light welding and carpentry duties.

* Maintains and installs facility-related equipment, such as compressors, tower water systems, heating and A/C system, elevators, lifts, exhaust fan units.

* Maintains and installs production-related equipment, such as tow motors, grinders, dust collectors, stretch wrap machines, gantries, trolleys, and hoists.

* Maintains company vehicles.

* Carries beeper for 24-hour access in case of emergency maintenance of air compressors, boiler, and furnace; on-call for seven-day period on a six-week rotating basis; may have to work a holiday if down time provided; must be able to work occasional overtime.

* Additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Minimum of eight years of related experience and/or training. Certificates in welding, boiler repair, electronics, auto repair, and related fields a plus. Technical school and/or degree a plus. Must possess and maintain a driver"s license.

Skills and Competencies:

* Communication: Ability to communicate one-on-one and in groups, complete task sheets, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

* Logical reasoning: Ability to understand instructions and troubleshoot problems. Ability to work independently from blueprints, work orders, and schematics.

* Mathematical: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

* Technical: Knowledge of auto mechanics. Ability to operate a plow truck. Ability to perform occasional work from ladders at heights above 10'. Ability to use electronic testing equipment and meters.

* Technological: Computer experience is a plus.
