Summary/Objective
The Facility Maintenance employee is responsible for facility maintenance as directed by the Facility Maintenance Supervisor.


Essential Functions

  • Routine and preventative maintenance of facility and equipment
  • Safe operation of a wide variety of hand tools 
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Disposal of metal scrap from machine tools
  • Painting, carpentry, plumbing, and demolition 
  • Maintaining adequate lubrication reservoir levels in machine tools
  • Mixing and dispensing of fresh coolant 
  • Contribute to that safe operation and neat and orderly appearance of the facility
  • Operation and maintenance of electric fork lift truck and scissor lift
  • Provide back-up for tool crib, saw and heat treat operations
  • Perform miscellaneous jobs as assigned

Requirements

  

Required Competencies

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and carry out instructions in writing, oral or diagram form
  • Timely completion and attention to detail of assigned maintenance tasks 
  • Proper use of a wide variety of personal protective equipment
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to work with limited supervision
  • Effective communication skills (English)
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Basic arithmetic
  • Common sense

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct reports. 


Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing and professional office environment. This role routinely uses power equipment and hand tools necessary for facility and machine maintenance.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate both verbally and in writing. The employee is frequently required to move about the production floor, building property and office space, and reach with hands and arms. May be necessary to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hourly exempt position which operates Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm.


Travel
Travel is not required for this role.


Required Education and Experience 

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 5 years of maintenance/repair experience.

• Experience with various mechanical maintenance jobs
