Job Overview:

We are trying to find a smart and collaborative entry level Facility Maintenance Support Technician to join our Engineering team. You will report to the Facility Maintenance Lead Technician.  This person would interact with various departments and subcontractors.

Responsibilities & Duties:


•    Complete online SABA training and hands on training according to “Onboarding Training Plan” for this position. 

•    Stay current with assigned training & apply new knowledge to the job.

•    Communicate problems that arise beyond technician’s capabilities to Lead Technician.

•    Assist Mechanical Technicians when needed.

•    Overseeing the work of external contractors as assigned.

•    Comply with all applicable guidelines, procedures, rules, regulations including OSHA safety standards when completing all work assignments.

•    Work from ladders, scissor and boom lifts & roofs as needed for various assignments.

•    Provide weekly progress reporting to Facility Maintenance Lead Technician in bi-weekly update meetings & throughout the week when urgent facilities related issues arise.

•    Keep the Lead Technician abreast of any urgent issues as they arise.

•    Expected to be on-site at scheduled work times, according to the inclement weather policy to prepare & make facility safe for the arrival of workforce prior to their scheduled starting time – use of benefit time is not permitted when working during these events. This rule applies to all Facility TEAM members.

•    Fill in for other Facility Maintenance personnel as needed.

•    Flexibility to work overtime or altered schedule whenever needed.

•    Responsible for coordinating all vehicle fleet maintenance, repairs, recalls, inspections. Monthly drive test on all vehicles and checklist submitted to Lead Technician.


Job Requirements

•    HS diploma or GED required.

•    Minimum of 2 years of relevant interior and exterior facility maintenance experience is preferred. Knowledge pertaining to facility upkeep in a manufacturing environment is needed.

•    Knowledge & use of equipment, power tools & hand tools required to perform work in this position.

•    General knowledge of materials, methods & the appropriate tools to construct & maintain structures & building components.

•    Willingness to obtain the knowledge of Blum’s policies, procedures, values, company orientation & strategies.

•    Knowledge & compliance of all lock-out / tag-out procedures and guidelines, always verifying compliance and that all sources of energy have been isolated safely.

•    Knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations.

•    Effective oral & written communication skills

•    Ability to follow directions, instructions (written & verbal)

•    Gather information through the process of research getting info from others with expertise.

•    Coordination of activities & management of one’s time & the time of others to achieve daily goals in an environment where often many projects are being implemented simultaneously

•    Direct the allocation of contracted resources needed to complete assigned projects.

•    Ability to use power tools & measuring devices.

•    Ability to use computer programs and applications including SAP, Microsoft Office Products, track status of assignments on Facility Work Requests System.
