Job Elements and Position Responsibilities
The Maintenance Manger reports to the Director of Operations, N.A. This position is responsible for maintenance of all manufacturing related equipment, keeping abreast of the latest technologies for injection molding and the specification of new assets and includes accountability for the management and development of all Maintenance personnel.
Job Elements & Position Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a data driven, preventative and predictive work management program that maximizes the efficiency of maintenance and technical personnel; prioritizes for machine capacity utilization and minimizes cost of materials.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and suppliers to ensure the reliability of equipment on all existing and new assets
- Implement and sustain maintenance processes including spare parts, CMMS, and TPM.
- Lead the Scheduling and Planning functions working towards 90% or greater planned work vs. reactive work.
- Responsible for installation/relocation of manufacturing equipment
- Develop end-of-life asset replacement plans
- Motivate and engage people through strategic vision, role clarity, coaching/feedback cycles, action-oriented culture, and clear two-way communication.
- Train technicians, maintenance, production supervisors, and others on use and maintenance of presses and auxiliary equipment.
- Model and drive an attitude and mindset of technical excellence and continuous improvement across the whole team, champion key processes and techniques, e.g., performance management, self-directed work teams, and asset reliability.
- Willingness to be on call as needed to include being on site for specific operations/situations as well as assist with hands-on maintenance activities if needed.
- Develop and coordinate technical training and apprenticeship programs.
- Establish and maintain related operating and capital budgets.
- Monitor equipment spare parts inventory and place orders when necessary
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Optimize PM activities in conjunction with scheduling and planning
- Set Time expectation and documentation expectation guides for TPM activities
- Ensure health and safety policies are complied with (LOTO, Confined Space, Electrical, etc.)
- Promote and support 5S within the facility
- Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
- Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
- Introduce and integrate equipment and new technology from Engineering Group.
- Support and develop other divisions and contract companies in technical areas.
- Long range planning for manufacturing methods and equipment replacement.
- Utilize lean manufacturing concepts for maintenance and installation of equipment.
- Accountable for administering all site maintenance policies and practices related to the employees
- All other duties as assigned.
SQF Responsibilities
This position has been identified as Senior Management per the Site Manager. As Senior Management, this position ensures that fundamental food safety practices are adopted and maintained. Senior Management provides the necessary resources available to support the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the SQF System. Senior Management is also responsible for reviewing the SQF System and documenting the review procedure which includes the policy manual, internal and external audit findings, and customer complaints and corrective actions with solutions. This position is an essential part of the business continuity plan and has responsibilities for decision making over a crisis; make provisions to ensure that fundamental food safety practices are adopted and maintained. This
position also has fundamental responsibilities to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Plan).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Relevant field preferred
- Certified advanced training and/or courses in electrical/electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, plastics, and injection molding.
- Familiar with industry standard TPM packages
- Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) is a plus
- TPM certification is a plus
Skills / Abilities
- Application of reliability analytics and statistical models (e.g., Weibull Analysis), and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Ability to prioritize in a complex environment
- A motivational leader and communicator at all levels of the organization.
- Extensive experience PLC experience/knowledge, automation, servo motors
- Proven experience in TPM implementation, successful execution and management of program is a must
- Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
- Injection Molding equipment knowledge is a plus
- Results Driven Aptitude.
Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in industrial maintenance, reliability, and engineering; with increasing responsibilities from supervisory through maintenance site management.
