Work Schedule:

7:00am – 3:30pm (Monday-Friday), but may vary

*Overtime may be required as needed*

Work Environment:

This position is considered a Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment.

Job Purpose:

Service, maintain, solve and repair meat processing and packaging support equipment to include ammonia refrigeration, boilers, Water/Sewer, and compressed air systems. Perform mechanical maintenance, electrical/electronic, and sanitation duties as assigned by Mechanical Team Leader.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Work with and under direct supervision of Team Leader and/or Maintenance Supervisor. Maintain/repair/rebuild/process related systems and/or components. Learn Standard Cleaning methods and assist with scheduled plant clean‑up. Assist/perform in production related functions as needed/or requested by the Team Leader. Stay in sync with all plant policies, safety laws and industrial hygiene regulations as a condition of employment. Provide communication between Engineering and Operation teams as engineering representative on operational teams/committees. Use all maintenance systems as advised. Perform any related system function correctly and accurately! Apply detailed steps in performance of all PMs by following steps and adding to or questioning when appropriate! Keep work area clean and perform shop clean‑up as advised is vital. Know and follow GMP rules/procedures.

  • Promote and support interpersonal goals and culture.

  • Perform other duties as advised by the Operation or Team Leader.

  • Maintain compliance individually with performance against Maintenance KPI’s.

  • Maintains compliance with Kraft Heinz -Kirksville Safety Policies & Procedures.

  • This position also has accountability for QRMP standards as outlined in the Kirksville, MO, QRMP accountability document.

  • Maintenance and Cleaning of RMAU units and changing of filters for rooftop units

  • Electrical troubleshooting to include interpreting wiring diagrams.

  • Understanding of the refrigeration cycles and HVAC components and systems.

Expected Experience & Required Skills

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must be able to work any shift that is assigned.

  • Positions involve standing, lifting, bending, and stooping.

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • 3-5 years of Industrial Maintenance experience or equivalent technical school or college level course work.

  • High School Diploma / GED required. AA or Technical degree/training preferred.

  • Previous manufacturing experience and basic digital literacy.

  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

  • Basic understanding of Meat Process.

  • Learn to use the SAP system.

  • Must demonstrate the following: professionalism, high ethical standards, a positive and a collaborative attitude.

  • Must also have strong analytical, organizational, administrative, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Attend required training as needed.

  • HVAC education, training, or certification.
