General Profile

  • Has developed proficiency in a range of HVAC and refrigeration processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience

  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training, and certifications required for HVAC/Refrigeration work

  • Completes a variety of atypical assignments related to HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and building environmental controls

  • Works within defined processes and procedures and helps determine the appropriate approach for new assignments

  • Completes work with a limited degree of supervision

  • Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience

Functional Knowledge

  • Has developed proficiency in a range of HVAC and refrigeration analytical processes and procedures to carry out assigned maintenance, repair, and installation tasks

  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting capabilities for complex HVAC and refrigeration system issues

Business Expertise

  • Has a good understanding of how the HVAC/Refrigeration team integrates with Facilities Operations and other departments to achieve site objectives

  • Understands the impact of HVAC system performance on building operations and client satisfaction

Leadership

  • May provide informal guidance and support to more junior HVAC technicians and apprentices

  • Serves as a technical resource for troubleshooting and problem-solving

Problem Solving

  • Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents, procedures, and technical manuals

  • Applies diagnostic skills to identify root causes of complex HVAC and refrigeration system failures

Impact

  • Impacts the quality of own work and its contribution to the Facilities team

  • Ensures building environmental systems operate efficiently and meet client requirements

Interpersonal Skills

  • Explains complex technical information regarding HVAC and refrigeration systems to team members and other departments

  • Communicates system status, repair needs, and maintenance recommendations effectively

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations on HVAC systems and refrigeration equipment

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system malfunctions

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of hands-on HVAC and refrigeration experience

  • EPA Universal Certification

  • State/local HVAC licenses

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Proven track record of troubleshooting complex HVAC systems

Estimated compensation for this position:

89,440.00 – 99,840.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
