POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and safety-minded Facilities Technician to join our manufacturing team. The Facilities Technician at Vertiv is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the facility by performing routine maintenance, equipment repairs, and building upkeep. This hands-on role ensures that all systems, machinery, and infrastructure are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to facility-related work orders, troubleshooting issues and resolving them effectively to reduce downtime.
- Assist in equipment installations, moves, and general facility modifications.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, and building utilities.
- Support facility improvement projects, equipment installation, and renovations.
- Assist with maintaining fire protection, life safety, and security systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and operating costs.
- Monitor and maintain building infrastructure including restrooms, breakrooms, common areas, and office space to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Work closely with contractors and vendors during repairs or project work; escort and monitor as needed for safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs for equipment and work performed.
- Support workplace safety initiatives by identifying hazards and ensuring equipment and tools meet safety standards.
- Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and basic groundskeeping duties as needed (site-dependent).
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, and notify leadership when reorder is needed.
- Follow all Vertiv safety policies and procedures, promoting a clean and hazard-free work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance or facility maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and distribution systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Basic computer skills; ability to use maintenance software or CMMS (preferred).
- Ability to use MEWPs (scissor or boom lifts)
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of ladders or lifts.
- Occasional kneeling, crawling, or working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions.
- Work from ladders, MEWPs. Or elevated platforms.
