SUMMARY:


Working as a member of the Maintenance Dept., the Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and making necessary repairs throughout the facility. Must have a strong ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. A thorough understanding of maintaining a safe work environment is required. 

There are two levels of Facilities Technicians (I and II) at Barletta, dependent upon an individual’s specialized skills, abilities, certifications, and / or education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems;Provideaccurateestimates of any repairs needed
  • Perform repairs and troubleshoot issues related to equipment, machinery, and building structures.
  • Maintain and repair welders, hand and power tools, hoists,sawsand various other equipment.
  • Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and emergencies.
  • Keepaccuraterecords of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address facility-related needs.
  • Assistin the setup and organization of workspaces, including moving and assembling furniture or equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and landscaping as needed.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords of maintenance work performed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basisin accordance withwrittenprocedures and/or manufacturer’srecommendations.
  • Track and log required daily/weekly/annual inspections.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area and keep inventory of all tools.
  • Supports a Barletta Safe culture by adhering to and advocating for the safest behaviors and proactivelyidentifiesopportunities to mitigate job-related risks and hazards.

Facilities Technician Level I

  • Provide support in estimating repairs needed.
  • Assistin performingbasic tointermediaterepairs under supervision.
  • Learn tomaintainand repair various equipment and tools.
  • Aid in keeping records of maintenance work.

Facilities Technician Level II

  • Provideaccurateestimates for repairs independently.
  • Performintermediate to complexrepairs in a safe andtimelymanner with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain and repair various equipment and tools.
  • Keepaccuraterecords of maintenance work performed.
  • Independently estimate and execute high-quality and complex repairs.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance based on written procedures andmanufacturerrecommendations.
  • Track and log required inspections regularly.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent- Technical or Vocational graduate preferred
  • At least 2+ years of maintenance experience, industrial facility preferred
  • Knowledge in single phase electrical isrequired(3-phase is a plus)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have the ability to perform all physical requirements including walking, standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling,climbingand lifting upward of 50lbs
  • Mustpossessgood working knowledge of welding and fabricating equipment
  • Knowledgeinbasic/advanced construction is a plus
  • Welding experience is a plus
  • Must display good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to multi-task whileremainingcalm under pressure
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Hours may vary depending on needs and projects, ability to work overtime and weekends if necessary
