Facilities Mechanic II - This is a dual-function role that combines specialized industrial janitorial/floor care cleaning with light general facilities maintenance and logistics experience. The position is critical for maintaining operational environments, specifically those requiring high standards of cleanliness in manufacturing areas and engineering laboratories. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and capable of working in a collaborative team environment. They should be proficient in maintaining all types of industrial flooring and have a broad and full understanding of other janitorial responsibilities for large commercial businesses.
- ESD & Standard Floor Care: Maintaining electronic manufacturing areas, which includes floor refinishing and carpet cleaning.
- Using industrial cleaning chemicals and equipment to meet specific cleanliness frequencies.
- Performing preventive maintenance on the janitorial equipment and machines used for cleaning.
- Personnel Moves: Coordinating and executing the daily movement of internal employee’s and equipment.
- Furniture Management: Reviewing requests, delivering materials, and installing/removing cubicles and other office furniture. Must have experience in using hand tools and battery-operated drills.
- Material Handling: Operating powered equipment, including fork trucks and pallet jacks.
- Building Upkeep: Performing painting, patching, flooring repairs, ground maintenance and general repair tasks.
- Administrative: Must have general computer skills and familiarity utilizing a computerized work order system to track and manage tasks.
- Ability to manage a queue of work orders and coordinate logistics for office moves.
- Capability to perform manual labor, including painting and furniture assembly.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Skills and Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently while meeting predetermined requirements
- Certification or experience with powered industrial trucks (forklifts/pallet jacks).
- FOD cleaning, stripping and finishing VCT (tile) floors experience
- Extraction of carpets and knowledge of cleaning equipment both hard floor and carpets
- Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Ability to perform building and grounds upkeep and repairs
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills and Education
- 5+ years’ experience in custodial, janitorial or general maintenance positions
- Experience working in electronic manufacturing environment
- Experience/understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) flooring requirements and previous working experience in Foreign Object Debris (FOD) sensitive areas.
