Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Purpose of Position:The role of this position is to assure the uptime of facilities equipment and optimal conditions of the building. The supervisor keeps the facility running efficiently by overseeing both personnel and equipment performance.Major responsibilities/Tasks:Maintain, in optimal conditions, the building and facilities equipmentTrack and manage budgetIdentify saving costs projects within facilities areaIdentify and implement best practices based on experience and corporate recommendationsImplement and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities of the facilities equipment that support the operation of the building and manufacturing activitiesOrganize 24/7 coverage without overtimeCoordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work of its groupMaintain safety initiatives as LOTO, industrial vehicles, EPP usage and Electrical safetySupervise the usage of supplies and equipmentProcurement of equipment and/or contractors servicesCoordinate repair and installation of production and facility equipment in a timely mannerDirect and assist maintenance technician in repair and or installation of all production and facility equipmentWork from prints, sketches, written or verbal instructions to designInstall production and facility equipment Function:Implement and maintain automated system to monitor and improve efficiency of the equipment and personnelMaintain personnel and equipment at best-in-class performance while keeping the budget at its lowest levelMinimum Education, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalentMinimum of 5 years of experience leading Facility or Maintenance departmentExperience on large manufacturing buildingsKnowledge of Electrical substations, HVAC, Compressed air and Reverse osmosis systemsPrevious experience leading projectsAdditional Skills (Desired):Fully bilingual (Spanish)Knowledge on compressed air and reverse osmosis systemsElectrical troubleshooting skillsProblem solving abilitiesStrong verbal, written skills, and presentation skillsGood interpersonal skillsSix sigma belt certificationsKnowledge of ISO9001, TL9000 and ISO 14001 certifications**This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
