The Facilities Reliability Engineer is responsible for proactive identification, management, and improvement of facilities-related equipment/asset lifecycles through the use of data-driven analysis of machine operation and associated failure modes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support in the manufacturing of optical fiber with a focus on Facilities Equipment Reliability: HVAC/Chillers/Air Compressors/Process Water systems/Boilers/High Purity Gas Delivery systems, etc.
Lead equipment reliability excellence initiatives.
Generate and deploy facilities equipment reliability projects to improve overall equipment uptime and effectiveness.
Track downtime and abnormally high maintenance costs to prioritize and eliminate frequently failing assets.
Participate in the Management of Change process as it relates to design, specification, and commissioning of new and/or modified facilities equipment to ensure it is maintainable and reliable from day one.
Lead investigations into facilities equipment failures to identify underlying causes and implement permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.
Work closely with Maintenance teams to develop and refine Preventive (PM) and Predictive (PdM) maintenance strategies using predictive tools like vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonic, and oil analysis.
Work will technical and maintenance staff to identify and mitigate recurring facilities equipment breakdown issues through analysis and development of strategies to prevent failure.
Maximize production equipment effectiveness, including:
Safety for employees operating equipment.
Maximizing equipment availability and uptime.
Readiness to support strategic business growth.
Collaborate regularly with Automation, Engineering, Operations and Maintenance personnel to resolve both short and long term issues.
Identify, implement, and/or support continuous improvement (CI) projects/efforts throughout the facility.

Bachelors degree in Engineering (BSME, BSEE, or related field preferred).
At least five (5) years of manufacturing/engineering/maintenance experience
Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
Strong data analysis skills and knowledge of statistical tools.
Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated collaborative interpersonal interactions
Exhibits energy and positive attitude to facilitate change (ie. Change Agent)
Well organized and disciplined in prioritization of responsibilities
