The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting the safety, cleanliness, and smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Facilities Lead, this position is responsible for performing routine facility repairs (≈80%) and providing custodial support (≈20%). The role ensures daily maintenance needs are met, assists skilled technicians, and helps keep production areas, offices, and grounds in optimal, inspection-ready condition.

Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs in electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical systems (e.g., replace light fixtures, ceiling tiles, door hardware, dispensers, and minor leaks).
- Complete daily/weekly preventive maintenance (PM) checklists (e.g., filter changes, lubrication points, eye-wash inspections).
- Assist skilled trades during larger jobs, fetch tools, stage parts, document work orders.
- Record maintenance work performed, including parts and labor.
- Support 5S and waste-segregation programs.
- Conduct visual safety audits and report hazards or irregularities.
- Participate in miscellaneous facility projects (painting, drywall, fixture installation, event setup/teardown).
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs, suppliers, or storerooms as directed.
- Stock and rotate janitorial supplies; notify Facilities Manager when inventory is low.
- Support light cleanup requests in offices, production, and common areas.
- Operate and maintain floor scrubber and other industrial cleaning equipment.
- Ensure work areas remain clean and compliant with OSHA housekeeping standards.
- Dispose of waste and scrap properly according to regulations.
- Follow all Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO), PPE, and chemical-handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized cart and storage area.
- Communicate updates and improvement ideas during daily tier meetings.
- Provide courteous assistance to employees and visitors; represent Facilities with a service mindset.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Required)
- Education: High School or GED
- Experience:6+ months of experience in maintenance, custodial services, construction, or related field (school co-op or military service counts).
- Basic proficiency with hand/power tools and safe ladder use.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet to close work orders and send emails.
- Ability to earn forklift and aerial-lift certification.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending and stooping required.
- Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
- Must be able to work in noisy environments.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to work from elevated platforms
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8–10 hrs
