Job Overview:

Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician

Location:Sinking Spring, PA

Schedule:Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Pay:Around $25 per hour, based on experience

Job Type:Full-time, temp-to-hire

About the Company

Our client is a long-standing, family-owned manufacturing company located in Sinking Spring, PA. They manufacture bird seed and small animal food products and are looking for a reliable Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician to join their team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys maintenance work, building repairs, outdoor grounds work, and helping keep a facility running safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities

The Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician will help with general maintenance and repair work throughout the facility. Responsibilities may include:

  • Performing building maintenance and general repair work
  • Installing drywall, painting, and basic carpentry
  • Assisting with plumbing repairs as needed
  • Helping with mechanical maintenance work
  • Performing occasional concrete work
  • Maintaining the grounds, including mowing, weed whacking, mulching, snow removal, ice removal, and salting
  • Driving between company buildings as needed using a company vehicle
  • Operating a skid loader, company truck, or van when required
  • Completing monthly safety checks, including fire extinguishers, doors, glass safety inspections, and lighting inspections
  • Following all company safety rules, OSHA standards, and food safety procedures
  • Assisting with inventory or other tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Prior building maintenance experience required
  • Experience with drywall, painting, basic construction, or carpentry preferred
  • Basic plumbing or mechanical maintenance experience is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be able to drive between buildings as part of the job
  • Must be able to become certified on a forklift and pallet jack
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds throughout the shift
  • Must be comfortable working around moving equipment, dust, fumes, loud noise, and outdoor weather conditions

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, hands-on, and willing to jump in wherever needed. This person should be comfortable doing a mix of building maintenance, groundskeeping, repairs, and general facility support.
